Almon B. White Post, No 55 
Whitefield

The namesake of this Post enlisted on 11 Aug 1862 and was mustered in on the 21st as a private in Co I, 3rd New Hampshire Infantry. He was promoted to corporal in Nov 1863. On 13 May 1864, he was wounded at Drewry's Bluff, VA, receiving a gunshot in the right shoulder. He was sent to the Mower General Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he died on 26 June.
