Rochester, NH Civil War Soldier's Monument Restoration Project

In September 2007, the Camp hired Rika Smith McNally, a conservator from Massachusetts, to inspect the Civil War monument on the Common.

Even though it was reported that the monument is in good condition, it will cost $30,000 to clean and restore the monument. Additional plans are to replace the four Parrot Rifles that were removed during the WWII scrap drive and setting them on granite holders like the originals (costs are still being gathered est.$11,000 each).

This will be one of the Camps largest fundraising projects to date, but will be well worth the effort
