New Hampshire's Last Civil War Veteran:

Frank E Amadon

Died 12 Jan 1945

   Frank E Amadon, 98, New Hampshire's last GAR veteran, died yesterday at Elliott Community hospital. He served in the Civil war with the 18th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry. Long active in veteran's affairs, he was a past commander of the local post of the GAR and twice served as state commander. Survivors include a son, Howard J of Keene. Service will be held tomorrow in the Unitarian church.
